So I figured I would update. The summer has been busy but school starts in 3 weeks so we are trying to get back into a routine with the kids. Dawson has been doing well but a few weeks ago we had some blood/urine done witch showed that his ck levels are still rising (they are at 260 now) and he had a staph infection in his urine. The urine also showed billirubin indicating jaundice. We had a dr's appt today to find out what is wrong with his spine and we went over all the blood/urine tests from a few weeks ago. We do think the billirubin might have been a bit of contamination as he shows no signs of jaundice and his blood billi test was normal so we will repeat the test just to be safe (the staph infection is gone btw), we are repeating the cervical spine xray (the first xray showed a "swoosh" of the C2 vertebrae. Odds are he was born with it and it should not cause any pain or long term issues and should not need to be fixed) She also wants to do a hip xray to be on the safe side plus xray both knees and "frog leg" xray. All the other tests done a few weeks ago were normal (iron, potassium, bleeding disorder ext) So we have quite the long list of new tests to be done but we can get them all done the same day.
We also have the EMG this week (on thurs) So I will be sure to update when we get home. I also brought the camera (armed with video of his last episode) to show the pead. She was QUITE concerned with the pain he was in and the swelling in his legs (his arm was also hurting him that night. That has never been an issue before so we are hoping that he just slept on it wrong) So I am glad I brought it (she was to). She wants to see him back soon (we will wait till after all his tests though) because she could not get a reflex on his left leg. She was also talking about maybe doing an MRI. She is contacting the hospital in Windsor we used to deal with to get his records. I think she just wants to check up on the PVL and to make sure the damage that was done is not getting worse. So I guess thats it for now (sorry for being all over the place tonight. Just too much to tell I guess lol)
