If I am not updating that means the kids are happy and healthy! I really did not think there would ever be a time where things were so stable with Dawson that we almost forget he is a sick little guy. So I am going to post some awesome updates, about normal happy things like birthdays and parties and photo shoots ext :)
THE DRAWING HOPE PROJECT
On Oct.16th, right before Dawson's big 7th birthday we had the privilege of meeting Shawn Van Daele, from the Drawing Hope Project. Dawson had drawn a picture of him being a Pirate (shocking right? lol) and Shawn took his photo and turned my little man into a real PIRATE! It was (is!!) amazing what Shawn does for all these kids. Here is a link to the Drawing Hope and what it is all about http://drawinghope.ca/. The story book is in the process of being written, I can't wait to see the finished product. Amazing! We look forward to working with Shawn again in the future with Emma.
DAWSON'S BIRTHDAY
October marked Dawson's 7th Birthday! He had a HUGE party (Halloween themed of course) with about 40 or so friends/family there to celebrate his big day. We decided that instead of gifts we would gather donations to a charity of Dawson's choice, and he chose the drawing hope (for their Christmas party). What an AMAZING experience! All his friends were eager to help and Dawson collected 45 or so toys to be given out at the Christmas party for all the drawing hope sweet hearts and their brothers and sisters. We will for sure we doing more parties like this in the future. (There may or may not be a Make A Wish party being planned for the twins 11th Bday coming up, stay tuned for details after the holidays!). Thank you to Auntie Manda, Ange, Amanda, Taylor, Mikalah, Keegan, Chelsey, Brendan and all the parents that stayed to help, we could have pulled it off without all the help!
DRAWING HOPE CHRISTMAS PARTY
Another amazing time!!! The kids were so excited and met so many new friends! I found being surrounded by parents that know just what it is like to have a medically fragile child(ren) is like, all our stories are so different but we all "get it". Everyone was so nice and Dawson instantly clicked with a few of the other little guys there and had so much fun. My heart was bursting! Thank you to Shawn and all his "elves" that pulled it off, the party was amazing, and seeing all these children be able to enjoy their day and be kids was just....Wow! there really is no words to express what this party was like <3 p="p">

JUSTIN BIEBER CONCERT
We surprised Miss Emma with JB tickets a few months ago, the concert was this past Saturday (dec.1). Another AMAZING experience! For those that know Emma in real life, know that she is a pretty hard kid to please. Must of the time she is lost in her own little word. Not many things peek her interest, and not many things truly make her HAPPY. Well Justin makes her happy, his music makes her smile and has got her through many nasty, invasive medical tests. After she decided to use her MAW to bring us all to papa's for Christmas last year we felt the least we could do was try to get her to a concert! I am SO glad we did! I have NEVER seen her smile so much, she was beaming...her EYES were smiling :) I may have had a few tears in my eyes (Not because of JB, that would be creepy lol) but because my baby girl was HAPPY!!! She danced, laughed and cried (Because of JB! LOL) and sang her little heart out. One of the best moments of my life watching her. I hope she never forgets it, EVER! and if I have to bring her to every JB concert that comes out this way to keep the memory alive I will!
I took about a thousand pics/video's, it will be months before I get through them all lol.
MEDICAL~Emma
We seen our favorite ped in August to touch base with Emma and Dawson. Emma's temp issues have been getting more severe and a bit harder to handle. There is not much they can really do for her though, we are doing everything right and everything we can. It can be frustrating but it is just part of our life now, so we will deal with it and live life the best way we can. She referred her to an allergist to deal with the high levels of histamine in her blood, and severe hives she gets from the sun/heat. Turns out she has NO allergies....Hmmm, just another stumped dr under her belt ;) She wants to see her again in the spring/summer when the hives come back. Until then there is nothing she can do for her.
She is still battling UTI's, just seems to be another daily issue, hopefully she will outgrow them with time. We never did hear about the MRI, so I am taking it as a good thing/nothing has changed.
Other than these few things, there is not much to report. She is doing well :)
MEDICAL~Dawson
My little guy is doing so awesome right now :) We seem to have a good system for pain control and it is working well for all of us! He seen the Cardio a few months ago for an Echo, his heart is strong and he does not need to go back for a few years (all part of the diagnosis we hope to get soon). We are waiting on a few other appts and are praying for a full diagnosis. I don't want to go into to much detail about it until we know for sure and our appts are not until January. I will for sure update after we see genetics. He has battled a few fevers since school started but nothing to severe or concerning. Defiantly not as bad as previous years, and hoping it stays that way! He is feeling the best he ever has and for that I am happy :) Now his ped is pretty concerned, and all these upcoming appts were fast tracked, but I refuse to let that put a damper on how well he is doing. We will deal with it when the time comes, when we know more information from the specialists that deal with these types of medical issues.
