It has been crazy busy around here, I can never seem to find the time to sit down and write. Things are going well here though, busy getting ready for the holidays we are heading "home" for Christmas (to Dave's family), the kids are so excited and so are we. Thank you to Make A Wish for granting Emma's wish to go to Papa's for Christmas, we will be leaving on Friday and returning on boxing day! We are all excited exp. Emma :D There are a few surprises planned, I will write more about that when we get home (and hopefully be able to upload some pics).
As for how Emma and Dawson have been health wise, things have been good. Emma was diagnosed with Epilepsy a few months ago and has an MRI/MRS scan scheduled for June/12 (crazy I know). Hopefully then we will get some answers as to why she is so developmentally delayed and why some regression. Other than that and a tummy bug a few weeks ago she is doing very well! I got a chance to have a phone interview with her teacher and she is doing GREAT this year in school, she is really showing them what she is capable of :D That is a huge step in the right direction, she has been in her school for 2 years now and this is the first time she has really showed them what she can do when she puts her mind to it!
Dawson has been doing well, as well as expected. He has been battling high fevers, usually between 101-103. Not 100% sure what the fevers are all about but I feel bad for him :( He seems to handle them well and says he feels "fine" with the fevers but he looks so unwell when he gets them. We have an appt in Feb. with a new Dr at children's and the appt can not come fast enough! Pain wise he is doing well, I love the fact that he is old enough now to tell us he is starting to hurt so we can deal with it before it gets bad. It really helps! He is handling full time school well and is doing good for the most part. We do still have O/T coming in to help with hand/eye co-ordination and some issues with colouring/writing. We will be heading to children's for some updated blood work before his appt with the Rheumo, hopefully it is better than the last batch of blood work he had done. Other than that things have been good with him. He is still cute as ever!
As for Emma's wish, she was accepted for a wish a few months ago and has not really voice a wish, or at least the "perfect" wish. We have been tossing things around (Disney, meeting Justin Bieber, New York ext) NOTHING seemed to make her happy. We were planning a Christmas road trip to papa's for Christmas but the van died a few weeks ago so I called if off after looking into the price of the train (our car is only a 5 seater). It was just way to much money and we could not make it happen. Naturally the kids/Dave's family were upset :(
A few hours after I let the kids know it was just not possible I over heard Emma telling Mikalah she wishes we could still go to papa's house for Christmas and she was sad (heart breaking I know) so I asked her if she would like to use her special wish to see if we can go, she got soooooo excited! I explained that she only gets one wish and to sleep on it and be sure this is what she wants to do. I left it for a day and asked her again and again she got excited so I contacted MAW to see if there was any way we could pull it off in less than 2 weeks. MAW came through (like always) and has pulled it off :D Like I said above there are a few "secrets" we have planned that the kids do not know about so I will share them when we get home.
I hope everyone have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I will update next week with pics (I hope lol) and how her wish went! I am so happy everything has worked out as planned and I am sure she will have the best Christmas ever!
