Neurologist update

So today we were off to see Dr.Prasad for the first time in over 1 year. He was VERY pleased with how far along Dawson has come :) He is growing so well and his speech is great (last time he seen Dawson he was not talking much and was very short for his age). He is now in the 95% for height and weight and over the 100% for his head (has been since he was 2 months). We talked for about an hour about all the different Dr's and why he is seeing them and also went over his headaches (the reason we were there). I was hoping he would discharge him but that was a no go. We decided NOT to put him on sandomigrane again (I hate him being on RX meds if he does not have to be). So for now when he has his headaches we will give him 10 ml's of Motrin every 6 hours for 24 hours (his reg dose is 7.5 ml's for his weight). He will take it every 6 hours for 24 hours regardless if his headache goes away with the first dose. Thankfully he does not get them often.

We also talked about a helmet for school (the school wants him in a helmet full day, Dave and I do not agree). The Dr agreed with us and said he should wear one at recess and gym but that is it. We will get him one to wear at those times only. He will have full EA support while he is at school so I am not overly worried about him hurting himself. He also wanted to do the muscle biopsy but we are going to hold off until after we see the neuro metabolic in T/O in Dec. We will see him again in March.

We have Nephrology tomorrow morning and will find out what the VCUG had to say and a more detailed report on his renal scan so I will update again tomorrow when we get home.
