So we did see Nephrology and everything looks great. Like I had explained before he has a few small scars on his kidneys but nothing to be worried about at this point. His VCUG was neg (meaning he has no scaring in his bladder and no refluxing into his kidneys). His kidneys are a normal size and his kidney function is within normal limits. So for now we have been discharged from the kidney dr but he can be sent back and any time if things get worse. We talked a lot about the infections and blood and protein in his urine and what could be causing it since his kidneys and bladder look good. He thinks that it is the Motrin. Motrin (and all ibuprofen ) are VERY hard on the kidneys. We have asked his pead this before and she has always told us that it is very safe and would not harm his organs but Dr.Filler told us different and wants us to get him off the Motrin asap. Tylenol has never worked for him before but I will try it again and hope and pray it works, I feel so bad that treating one thing is causing other issues. His poor body as been through enough.
With the discharge from nephrology we will be adding urology. We have a few appts coming up with them in October, an ultrasound and a flow test (both will be done at the same time). This is part of the study (the tests) and are not painful tests.
So over all all is well with his kidneys and bladder (YAY) and he is very excited to start school in 1 week.
